I don't like to rely on templates. I like to keep things as simple as possible, that way there's unlikely to have anything go wrong.

why not just have a simple size code and perhaps a skin that might make the site look more dedicated to advertisements of X-Men?

Clean and crisp places have always attracted me more towards a forum, rather than all these skins I've been seeing. I've seen too many places with identical skins, and therefore is less original than what the forum owners think.
